Twelve of the 13 Jones College students who competed in the Future Business Leaders of America state competition in Senatobia came home winners. They all placed first or second in their events, qualifying them for national competition in June, in Orlando, Fla. During the three-day conference, each student competed in two business-related events. The events ranged from Fundamentals of Accounting and Economics to Foundations of Technology and Public Speaking. “Twelve of the students will be going to the four-day national conference and competition in Orlando,” said JC FBLA adviser David Ray.

Float Fest Canceled Due To Production Issues

GONZALES, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Float Fest, a music and water sports festival, has been canceled due to production difficulties. The festival, which was scheduled to take place in Gonzales, Texas, on July 20tj & 21st, featured a lineup with Major Lazer, Portugal, The Man, Gucci Mane, Kaskade, Zed’s Dead, Ice Cube, Big Gigantic and Flaming Lips among others. In announcing the cancellation, organizers said that heavy rains in May & June caused unavoidable production delays that proved to be too challenging for the festival team to overcome.
