David Gail, known for his roles in Port Charles, the spinoff of General Hospital, and Beverly Hills, 90210 has died at the age of 58.
The TV star’s tragic death was confirmed by Peter Ferriero who hosts a Beverly Hills, 90210 podcast, which also features producers of the show. David’s sister also confirmed the news with a heartbreaking Instagram post.
Soap star David Gail dies aged 58
As well as his role as Dr Joe Scanlon on General Hospital spin-off Port Vale, David Gail was also known for his character on Beverly Hills, 90210, Stuart Carson. Carson was briefly engaged to Brenda Walsh, played by Shannen Doherty.
The 58-year-old also played Dean Collins in The WB soap Savannah.
Peter Ferriero paid tribute to the star on his Beverly Hills 90210 podcast, and Gail’s sister, Katie Colmenares, has also paid tribute via an Instagram post.
Alongside a photo of the two hugging, she penned in the emotional caption: “There’s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side. Always my wingman, always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone with me.
“The bears will never be the same but I will hold you so tight every day in my heart. You gorgeous, loving, amazing fierce human being. Missing you every second of every day forever. There will never be another,” she emotionally concluded.
Fans and friends pay tribute to the late star
Both fans and friends of the star took to the comments of David’s sister’s post to pay tribute.
Peter Ferriero wrote: “David was a kind human. Someone I wish I spoke to more. He was filled with life and incredible stories. I am grateful I got to know you. I am so saddened by your loss and the world’s loss. He was a gift to us all.”
“Such sad tragic news. Loved him as Stuart,” wrote one 90210 fan.
“Sending the biggest hugs,” wrote another.
